Ruth Richmond Edwards, 80, of Kingston, OH formerly of Dothan, WV passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, following an extended illness. She left this world in the same way that she lived her life, completely encircled by her family members who loved her so much. She was born on December 23, 1927, in Dothan, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Herman C. and Ethel (Bragg) Richmond. On July 24, 1948, she married the love of her life, Herbert W. Edwards. The 50 years that they spent together were a shining example to their children of unfailing love and selfless devotion. When Herb passed away on November 17, 1998, Ruth's love for him carried on and carried her through the rest of her life. Ruth was preceded in death by her sisters Lily Richmond, Beatrice Evelyn Richmond, Glenna Pearce, Dessie Franklin, and Flo Carroll, and by her brothers Carl Richmond, Bernard Richmond, Dick Richmond, and Archie Richmond. Her daughters Linda Young and Diana Rozell, her grandson Jerry Young, and her sons-in-law Jerry Young, Steve Farabee and Jeff Castle also preceded her. Ruth is survived by her sister, Janet Sutphin Scarbro, West Virginia and her brother, Tally Richmond, of Oak Hill, West Virginia, along with her children Mary Farabee of Chillicothe, Karen Castle of Kingston, Kathy (Don) Newsome of Kingston, Sara (Keith) Woods of Chillicothe, Patty (Jeff) Allen of Circleville, and Herb (Kim) Edwards of Kingston. Her surviving grandchildren are Shane (Angie)Young, Nate (Brandi) Smith, Kristen (Josh) McQuiniff, Lindsay Farabee and her fiancé, Scott Grubb, Missy Farabee, Paige Castle, Ben (Grace) Newsome, Brad Newsome, Josh (Masha)Woods, Matt Woods, Jessie (Drew) Zickafoose, Megan Edwards, Adam Edwards, Aaron Edwards, Abbie Edwards, Grace Edwards, and Katie Edwards. Her surviving great grandchildren are Courtney and Haley Young; Ethan, Max and Nick Young; Logan Smith; Brenna McQuiniff; Hope and Holly Farabee; and Jade, Jozie, Jace, Jaxon, and Judah Zickafoose. Ruth's legacy will forever be the large family that she lovingly and faithfully served. Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM on Friday, September 26, 2008 at the Hill Funeral Home, 24 West Ing Street, Kingston, OH. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
