Ruth Craddock Conner, 78 died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Brian Center in Yanceyville, NC. Born September 26, 1932 at Mount Hope, WV she was the daughter of the late George and Macil Blake Craddock. A former resident of Richmond, VA, Ruth had lived in the Danville, VA area since 1979. She was formerly employed as a manager of the Division of Motor Vehicles in Danville and was a member of the Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert A. Conner on November 5, 1989 and by two sisters, Esta Spears and Edith Shaughnessy and a brother, Donald Craddock. She is survivied by a son, James Conner and wife, Angela of St. Michaels, AZ and a brother, David Craddock of Beckley. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jonah Conner, Estar Denny and husband, Kellen, Cody Conner and Rebecca Conner; three great grandchildren and her adopted family Ben and Joanie Sutton and family. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the Townes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Lamaar Mooneyham and Ben Sutton officiating. Graveside services will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday.
