Ruth St. Clair

Ruth Marie St. Clair, 90, of Oak Hill, WV formerly of Kincaid, WV. died on Sunday, December 05, 2004 at her home following a long illness. Born April 23, 1914 at Cleveland, OH she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Olga B. Kroggel St.Clair. Ruth was a graduate of Montgomery High School and West Virginia Institute of Technology, with advanced degrees from West Virginia University, University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and Western Reserve University. She began her career at the age of 18 at Kingston Elementary School. She later taught at Montgomery High School. She retired after 25 years as an assistant professor of mathmatics at West Virginia Tech. She was a member of the Page Baptist Church, the American Baptist Women and a life member of the NEA. She was preceded in death by her sister, Myrtle S. Goode. Survivors include niece, Barbara Goode White and husband, Joe, of Virginia Beach, VA; grandnieces, Jill S. Nedwick and husband, Paul, of Newport, RI and Kimberly W. Lasater and husband, Tom, of Broadway, NC; grandnephews, Daniel E. White of Virginia Beach, VA and Joe White, Jr. and wife, Kelly, of Conowingo, MD; and by 11 great grandnieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Memorial service will be on Sunday, December 12, 2004, at 11:00 am at Page Baptist Church with Rev. Delmas Wolfe officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, PO Box 1472, Beckley WV 25802 .
