Russell L. Riffe, Sr.

Russell Lewis Riffe Sr., 86, of Oak Hill, WV died on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV following a long illness. Born November 23, 1918 at Roxalia, Monroe County, WV he was the son of the late Luther and Roxie Wickline Riffe. He was retired from Union Carbide, Alloy, WV. Mr. Riffe was a member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church where he attended the Methodist Men's class and assisted with the Food Pantry. He was preceded in death by his son, Russell Lewis Riffe, Jr. on July 12, 2005; three sisters, Thelma Mahood, Delia Greene and Lula Lizut. Survivors include wife of 65 years, Rachael Bragg Riffe; one daughter, Rhonda Riffe Sutphin of Oak Hill; one sister, Viola Baker of California and two grandchildren, Mark Riffe and Rebecca Riffe both of Virginia. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Hom, Oak Hill, WV on Saturday, July 16, 2005, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Services will be on Friday, July 17, 2005, at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hillwith Dr. John Sauvage and Rev. William Slates officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill WV.
