On Friday, July 3, 2015, Russell Lee DeLung , 60, of Dothan, WV peacefully went through the gates of Heaven to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was a hard working coal miner for nearly 40 years.
A very devoted, loving and honorable husband, father and grandfather, Russell leaves behind a loving family which includes his wife, Sue Ellen Messer DeLung; son, James Russell DeLung and wife, Michelle of Narrows, VA and daughter, Bridgette Hammontree and husband, Ray of Fayetteville.
He is also survived by his four precious grandchildren, Dakota Ray Hammontree, Chase Weston Hammontree, Alyssa Renee DeLung and Lexi Nicole DeLung.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Paul Basham officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
Vernon DeLung, Ray Hammontree, Brenton Davis, Dakota Hammontree, Frank "Poke" DeLung and Johnny Davis will serve as pallbearers.
