Ruby Knotts Swanigan

Ruby Maude Runion Knotts Swanigan, 92, of Oak Hill, WV died on Monday, May 03, 2004 at her home following a long illness. Born June 02, 1911 at Bluff City, VA she was the daughter of the late Gordon L. and Minnie Crumb Runion. Mrs. Swanigan was a member of the First Brethren Chruch, Gatewood, WV and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Swanigan, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include her husband of 66 1/2 years, Roscoe Swanigan; sons, John Lynn (Helen) Knotts of Linside, Gary (Connie) Swanigan of Manassas, VA, Jerry (Cathy) Swanigan of Colorado Springs, CO, Danny (Kathy) Swanigan ofManassas, VA; daughters, Judith (Tom) Butler of Colorado Springs, CO, Hazel (Ernest) Hinsley of Fredrick MD, Sandra (Tom) McKinney of Oak Hill and Rita (Steve) Bassnett of Manassas, VA.; 25 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Ruby's family also wants to acknowledge and thank her devoted care givers. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Thursday, May 6, 2004, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Services will be on Friday, May 7, 2004 at 1:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Robert Pauley officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
