Roy Denver Vass , 79, of Beckley, WV died on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV.
Born November 06, 1935 at Cirtsville, WV he was the son of the late Luther and Eveleno Berry Vass.
He was former owner for an Amusement Company.
At one time he was known as the birdman of southern West Virginia for his raising of and love of birds. He also raised bees.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Lyle Howard Vass and Roy D. Vass, Jr.; brothers, Jack Delano Vass, Ernest Vass and Larry Dennis Vass; and sister, Ina Mae Vass Bowyer.
Survivors include son, James Vass of Culpepper, VA; former wife, Kay Vass of Beckley; step-daughter, Vicki Toney of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Tommy Dean Vass of Beckley; grandsons, Noah Toney of Rock Hill, SC and Christopher King of PIttsburgh, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes Roy will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at later date.
