Rose Ceprich Downing

Rose Catherine Ceprich Downing, 75, of Bunker Hill, Berkeley County, WV died on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. Born April 01, 1932 at Whipple, WV she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary Magdalene Alexknovitch Ceprich. She was the retired owner/inspector for an Auto Transmission Company. Rose was a life-long member of the Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Oak Hill, WV and a volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Mobile. Her husband, Lawrence Downing and a brother, Louis Franklin Walter Ceprich preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter, Debra Furr and husband, Dave of Bunker Hill, WV; one sister, Mary Lou Shanks of Oak Hill, WV; three grandsons, Donald Johnson of Charles Town, WV and Steven Coburn and James Coburn both of Bunker Hill and four great grandchildren, Trinity, Emily, Kaitlynn and Jason. She is also survived by one nephew, Johnny C. Shanks, II of Oak Hill, a niece, Catherine Thomas of Newport News, VA and her cherished companion, Mindy. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Oak Hill with Father Paul Yuenger officiating. Her cremains will be placed in a niche at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. Friends may call one-half hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 123 Elmore Street, Oak Hill WV 25901 or the charity of your choice.
