Rodney C. Sutphin

Rodney Carr Sutphin, 41, of Winterville, NC died on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC of an apparent heart attack. Born July 25, 1963 at Oak Hill, WV he was the son of Janet W. Richmond Sutphin of Rt 1 Scarbro, WV and the late Bobby K. Sutphin. Rodney was a Divisional Manager for Advance Auto Parts. He was a graduate of Oak Hill High School, Oak Hill, WV and attended West Virginia Tech. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Herman and Ethel Richmond and paternal grandparents William and Lou V. Sutphin. Survivors include wife, Paula Jo Kessler Sutphin; one son, Rodney C. Sutphin, II currently serving with the US Marines in San Diego, CA ; two daughters, Christina Sutphin and Brittany Sutphin both at home; two sisters, Bonnie Sue (Bill) Gillespie of Rt 1 Scarbro and Sherry (Allen) Gessel of Highland Village, TX; mother-in-law, JoAnn Kessler; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Roger) Martin, Mary (David) James, Karen (Mike) Szoke, Shelby (Johny) Drennen and Debbie (Frank) Miller; brother-in-law, Paul (Christine) Kessler, Jr.; and by many nieces and nephews Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Thursday, May 26, 2005, from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Services will be on Friday, May 27, 2005, at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Bill Menefee and Rev. Diarmuid O'Hara officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV.
