Robyn June Shrewsbury, 68, of Covel, wife of Rev. Ricky Shrewsbury, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 27, 2025 peacefully at her home after suffering through a short illness.
Robyn was born December 29, 1956 at Mullens, she was the daughter of the late Lance and June Shrewsbury.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother, Barry Shrewsbury.
Robyn was a 1975 graduate of Herndon High School, graduate of Concord College, and obtained a Masters Degree in Reading from Marshall University.
Robyn was a retired elementary teacher at Wyoming County, a job she loved, and did really well. She was also a beautiful church mother, the first lady at the Garwood Church of God where she attended faithfully for 24 years. Robyn loved everyone and was always a joy to be around. She loved spending time with the kids more than anything (all kids not just her own).
She will be missed by so many.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Ricky Shrewsbury whom she was married to for 24 years of Covel; one sister, Rita Bourne and her husband Derek of Bluefield; two sons, Daniel Kidd of Garwood and Adam Kidd of Sabina, OH; one stepson, Ricky D. Shrewsbury and his wife, Heather of Bud; five grandsons and one granddaughter whom she loved dearly; also nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
A celebration of Robyn's life will be celebrated at 12 noon, Monday, March 3, 2025 at the Garwood Church of God, Garwood with Pastor Jesse Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Shrewsbury Cemetery, Basin.
Friends may call from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the Garwood Church of God, Garwood and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Family & friends will serve as pallbearers.
