Robert Wolney

Robert Wolney, 89, of Oak Hill, WV died on Tuesday, November 02, 2004 at his home following a long illness. Born May 02, 1915 at Raleigh, WV he was the son of the late Gabriel and Agnes Chowney Wolney. Robert was a retired welder for Long Airdox, Oak Hill with 32 years service. He was a member of the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Oak Hill, WV. He served in the US Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer and Ernest F. Wolney and a sister, Mary Wolney. Mr. Wolney is survived by his wife, Lola Peraldo Wolney; brother, Johnny Wolney of Kentucky and a sister, Jenny Pletek of Detroit, MI. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Thursday, November 4, 2004, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm where a Wake Service will be held at 7:30 pm with Rev. Samuel Sacus officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, November 5, 2004, at 10:00 am at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Oak Hill with Father Xavier Cooney, S.V.D. officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park., Oak Hill WV with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3110, Oak Hill.
