Gene Robert Taylor

Gene Robert Taylor , 75, of Oak Hill, WV died on Wednesday, August 08, 2012 at his home. Born August 08, 1937 at Mount Hope, WV he was the son of the late Wilbur Houston and Kathleen Clifford Taylor. A born again Christian, Gene was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Taylor was a retired coal miner having been a tipple operator at Kingston and King Powelton Coal and was an avid hunter. He was a US Air Force veteran. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Hospice of Southern West Virginia and to his wonderful caregivers, Erica, Tammy and Amy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Symantha Lou Coleman Taylor, a son, Timothy Gene Taylor and a daughter, Lana Jo Taylor, sisters, Drema Surnear and Anna Gibson and brother, Charles Taylor. Gene was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather to his daughter, Kimberly Taylor or Oak Hill, granddaughter, Sarah Adkins and husband, Curtis of Scarbro and great grandchildren, C.J. Adkins, Luke Adkins and Whitney Adkins. He is also survived by a sister, Linda Hancock of Oak Hill and brothers, David Taylor of Scarbro, Roger Taylor of Beckley, Carl Taylor of Hilltop and Howard Taylor of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Jessie Parker officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
