Robert Lee Smith

Robert Lee Smith, 78, of Mount Hope passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024 at his residence.

Born March 20, 1946 in Charleston, WV he was the son of the late Benjamin M. Smith, Sr. and Helen Shaffer Smith.

Robert was a proud United States Army Veteran, he worked in the coal industry and owned a coal truck driving business. In his leisure he enjoyed shining his cars that he was proud of and spending time with his family.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by brother, Benjamin Smith, Jr.; and sister, Patricia Ann Colebank.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving and devoted wife, Brenda Miller Smith; daughters, Lyndsey Treadway (Chad) and Mollie Page (Mickey Johnson); 4 grandchildren, Carson Treadway, Saylor Treadway, Hannah Harless (Christian), and Kade Johnson; and 2 great grandchildren, Elsie Mae Harless and Hudson Harless; and sister, Janie Roberts.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley with Military rites conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard at the gravesite.

Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home in Mount Hope.
