Rita Drennen Pearl

Rita Marie Drennen Pearl, 87, (1928 – 2016) of Beckley, WV passed away peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2016 surrounded by family and friends.
Rita was born to Thomas and Helen “Nellie" Gannon Drennen in Springfield, OH. She married John L. Pearl and had six children.
Rita worked and retired from WPAFB in Fairborn, OH. After she retired she remained dedicated to her family and church. Rita loved doing for others and a good euchre game. She has been described as a bright light that shined on all she came in contact with. Rita will be missed and forever remembered by all that knew her.
She is survived by countless family and friends including her husband John; her children, John Michael, Ann (David) Schommer, Denise (James) Lanning, Phillip, Patrick (Eileen), James (Lisa); twelve grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Special thanks to devoted friend Karol R.; caregivers Debbie C. and Margy; and Rita’s special “Sis” Sr. Janice of St. Francis de Sales church. Thanks for her loving care to the staff at Pine Lodge Nursing Home and Bowers Hospice House.
In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Pearl was cremated. A memorial mass will be on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Francis de Sales in Beckley with Father Biju R. Devassy officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley WV 25801 or St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 626 S. Oakwood Avenue, Beckley WV 25801
