Rita E. Houck Dotson, age 73, of Oak Hill, WV passed away peacefully May 15, 2013 surrounded by loved ones. Born July 16, 1939 at Gary, WV she was the daughter of the late Quincy and Ola Mae Jordan Houck. Rita’s loving memory will be cherished by her husband, Larry Dotson; daughters, Tammy Lilly of Charlotte, NC and Dee Dotson of Charleston, WV; granddaughters, Amy Hanna and husband, Grey and Rachel Rivenbark and husband, Patrick; and great-granddaughter Caroline Hanna, all of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Anna Christine Garten of Illinois; half brother, Sam Houck of Florida and a half sister, Nina Lang of Florida; and many other family and friends. Rita attended Calvary Baptist Church. She retired from the Probation Office at the Fayette County Courthouse after many devoted years. Rita enjoyed cooking for her loved ones, country line dancing, shopping and Lifetime Movies. She was known for her spunky personality, hip sense of style, and miraculous ability to have her Christmas shopping complete by the Fourth of July. The family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. Steven McCormick, his nurse Candy and the staff of CAMC for their exceptional care. Pastor Mark Wood has been with Rita and the family for countless hours. His prayers and loving concern supported and sustained. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Pastor. The funeral service will be at 11:00am Saturday, May 18th at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Mark Wood officiating. Entombment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Tyree Funeral Home, 999 Jones Avenue, Oak Hill, WV on Friday, May 17th. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
