Richard T. Mullins

Richard Thomas Mullins, 74, of Old Willis Branch Hollow, Pax, WV fell asleep in Christ on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born March 22, 1932 at Clear Creek, WV he was the son of the late Renzie and Laura Williams Mullins. Richard was raised by his grandmother, the late Ida Williams and his uncle, Doris Williams. Mr. Mullins was a member and elder of the Pax Advent Christian Church; past president of the 3rd District Advent Christian Conference and a member of the UMWA. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. A brother, Russell Mullins; two grandchildren, Amanda Lynn Mullins and Jaime Marie Mullins and one great grandchild, Zachary Thomas Mullins preceded him in death. Survivors include wife, Joan Bailey Mullins; three sons, Clay (Debbie) Mullins of Old Willis Branch Hollow, Rex (Brenda) Mullins of Lively and Yancy (Cathy) Mullins of Mount Hope; two daughters, Sherry (Jay) Scurlock of MacArthur and Kassie (Winifred) Smith of Red Star; nine grandchildren, Danny, Brandon, Jarrod, Jason, Geneva, Mickey, D.J., Justine and Eli; seven great grandchildren, Ivy, Tristan, Jaedyn, Dominic, Kristen, Jacob and Kailey Rose; four sisters-in-law, Floa Stover, Audrey Williams, Becky Toney and Flossie Mullins; two brothers-in-law, Mickey Bailey and Teddy Bailey and many other loving family members. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at the Advent Christian Church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Services will be on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Advent Christian Church in Pax with former Pastor James Balser and Pastor Paul Bricker officiating. Burial will be at Pax Community Cemetery, Pax WV with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill.
