Richard "Rick" Karl Miller , 71, of Mount Hope, WV went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, October 01, 2021, at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV.
Born May 15, 1950, in Spencer, WV he was the son of the late Carl Woodrow Miller and Anna Faith Epling Miller West; and step-father, Clarence West.
Rick was 1968 graduate from Spencer High School. He was a proud United States Army Veteran where he was in the 2nd Armored Division in the Army which was the same division his dad served in during WW II. Rick was part of the American Legion Post #21 in Spencer. He retired from the US Postal Service in Beckley. Rick was a loving husband and father who had many friends and was known for his sense of humor and kindness. His wife always said he is the most patient man she ever knew. They shared a wonderful life together, and both said it was them against the world where they shared many wonderful times together. He was the best father you could ever ask for and to his wife and children he was a hero.
He is preceded in death by brother, Roland Mack Miller.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 20 years, Janet Hager Miller; sons, Blu Miller and Woody Lee Miller both of Mount Lookout, WV, and Matthew Aaron Miller of Mamers, NC; granddaughters, Courtenay Richmond of Summersville, WV, and Brynlee Miller of Summersville, WV; nephew, Ryan Miller; and niece, Amber Sloan; and step-brother, Jerry Shock; also a host of family and friends.
Visitation for friends will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Rev. Dana Gatewood officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley.
