Richard Paul Lilly

Richard Paul Lilly, age 79, of Oak Hill, WV, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at his residence. Born July 16, 1931 in Summers County, he was the son of Abdul Hamilton and Gertrude Mae Lilly Lilly. Mr. Lilly was a timber cutter having worked for Meador Lumber Co. He served his country with the US Army and was a member of the Summerlee Wesleyan Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, David Palmer Lilly and Alonza Lilly. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Betty Jean Waddell Lilly, his son, Larry Lee Lilly and his wife, Kathy of Oak Hill, his two daughters, Donna S. Ramsey and her husband, Dennis of Oak Hill and Teresa G. Bush and her husband, Kevin of Ravenswood, WV, five grandchildren, Devin Atha, Brandi Lilly, Jillian Ramsey, Kristin Wells and Amanda Wells and two great grandchildren, Brenton Lilly and Halie Pack. Also surviving are his four brothers, Frank "Doc" Lilly and his wife, Helen, Aubrey Lilly and his wife, Carol, all of Jumping Branch, Donald Lilly and his wife, Brenda of Woodbridge, VA and Luther Lilly of Jumping Branch. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 17, 2011 at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with Pastor Darrell Prater officiating. Burial will be in the One Arm Bill William Lilly Cemetery on Robin Roost Road. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Monday.
