Recie Hopkins Evans

Recie Bertrice Hopkins Evans , 85, of Burlington, NC formerly of Long Branch, WV went home to Heaven on Monday, November 02, 2015.
Born February 17, 1930 at Culham, AL she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ivy Stewart Hopkins.
Along with being a homemaker, Ms. Evans served many years as the assistant Post Master at the Long Branch Post Office. She was also a housekeeper at Sasser Electric and Raleigh General Hospital where she retired in 1992.
Mrs. Evans was a member of the Long Branch United Methodist Church for a number of years.
Her husband, James Evans, Sr.; one son, Joseph Evans; sister, Pearl Marie (Herbert) O'Bryan; a granddaughter, Brenda Evans and a grandson, Joe Evans all preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, James Evans, Jr. and wife, Linda of Climax, NC; two daughters, Regina Ash and husband, Dick of Craigsville and Gail Robertson and husband, Mike of Burlington, NC; four brothers, Bill Hopkins of Sutton, Huey Hopkins and wife, Jeanette of Las Vegas, NV, Ted Hopkins and wife, Nita of Madison, AL, and David Hopkins and wife, Darlene of Cleveland, OH; two sisters, Necie Beech and husband, Glen of South Heights, PA and Carolyn Hruby of Port Chilton, OH; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Rev. Tom Lilly officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call from 11:30 A.M. until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
