Raymond R. Treadway, 79, of Mt. Airy, NC formerly of Oak Hill, WV died, Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at his home. Born September 4, 1924 in Fayette County, WV he was the son of the late Wrenix and Myrtle Florence McLain Treadway. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Thompson. Mr. Treadway served our country during World War II in the US Marine Corps. He was a welder by trade and was retired from Seminole County Department of Transportation in Sanford, FL. He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Anna Joyce Blake Treadway; sons, Ollie Lloyd Treadway and wife, Linda, of Winston Salem, NC, Ottie Treadway of Scott Depot and Dr. Christy Lynne Treadway of Charleston; two grandchildren, Melissa Tinsley and husband, Eli, of Charleston and Justin Treadway of Winston Salem, NC, two great grandchildren, Elijah and Levi Tinsley of Charleston and by a special friend, Betty Simmons of Mt. Airy. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 24, 2004, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Roland McCraw and Rev. Alan Branch officiating. A committal service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, July 25, 2004, at the High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill with Rev. David White officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Northern Hospice, PO Box 1373, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
