Ray Feurt Singer, II ,89, of Oak Hill, WV died on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Fayette Nursing and Rehab Center in Fayetteville, WV following a short illness. Born March 2, 1916 at Thurmond, WV he was the only son of the late Ray Feurt and Sallie E. Duncan Singer. He was a retired used car dealer and former owner of Ray's Trading Post in Oak Hill, WV for over 40 years. Ray was a member of the First Brethren Church, Oak Hill, WV. He was a 50 year mason having been a member of the Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F. and A.M.; Swell Chapter #24 R.A.M.; Mount Hope Commandery #22 K.T. and Beni Kedem Shrine Temple and a 60 year member of the American Legion Post #149, Fayetteville, WV. He was a member and past president of the Ohill Lions Club and a former district governor. He served in the US Army Company M 125th Infantry during World War II. He was preceded in death by his only son, Ray F. "Stretch Singer, III in 1997. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Berry Singer; one daughter, Sara Singer Hill of Oak Hill, WV and two grandchildren, Josh Hill and Melody Ruth Hill. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Friday, August 12, 2005, from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Services will be on Saturday, August 13, 2005, at 2:30 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. William Skeldon, Rev. Milton Robinson and Rev. Rudell Bloomfield officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV.
