Ray E. Myers

Ray E. Myers, 77, of Mount Hope, WV died on Friday, June 13, 2008 at his home following a long illness. Born September 23, 1930 at St. Albans, WV, he was a son of the late Elmer Ray and Susan Rae Hoffman Myers. He was retired from Kojax Heating-Air Conditioning in Falls Church, VA, and was a former coal miner for the New River Company at Garden Ground. Ray was a member of the MacDonald-Warren Lodge No. 103, A.F. & A.M.; Winolia Chapter No. 59, Order of the Eastern Star, Mount Hope and was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Joann Burgess Myers; two sons, Danny Ray Myers of Mount Hope and Randy Lee Myers of Culpepper, VA; one brother, Roy David Myers of LaPorte, TX; three grandchildren, Randy Lee Myers II of Culpepper, VA, Traci Lynn Young of Saxon, Denise Joanna Myers of Culpepper, VA; 7 step grandchildren including special ones, Micheala Dennis and Frances Elizabeth Gross;and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Pastor Robert Barley officiating. Friends may call Monday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8 PM, where Eastern Star rites will be conducted at 7 PM. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by MacDonald-Warren Lodge No. 103, Mount Hope and Military Rites will be conducted by VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill.
