Rachelle Eileen Brewer Skeens

Rachelle Eileen Brewer Skeens , 92, of Beckley, WV died on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV following a long illness. Born March 19, 1920 at Beckley, WV she was the daughter of the late Roy E. Brewer, Sr. and Orva Christian Brewer. She was a devoted mother whose life centered around her two sons. Mrs. Skeens retired from American Hardware in Mount Hope with 25 years service. She was a member of the Mount Hope Baptist Church. Before entering the nursing home she attended the Bradley Free Will Baptist Church.. A son, Charles E. Skeens, three brothers, Roy E. Brewer, Jr., Glen Shelton Brewer and Sherrill Brewer and one sister, Margaret Jane Brewer preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, James C. Skeens and wife, Kitty of Covington, VA, two brothers, Cleve Brewer and wife, Betty of Prosperity and Richard Brewer and wife, Hazel of Beaver and one sister, Priscilla S. Vance of Seville, OH. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Charles Slykerman and wife, Donna of Oklahoma, James Michael Skeens and wife, Lori of Hot Springs, VA, Cheryl Skeens Cropco and husband, Dave of Forest, VA and Deborah Skeens Stover and husband, Danny of Sweeneysburg, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Pastor David Sneed officiating. Burial will be at Lansing Cemetery. Lansing. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Michael Skeens, Dave Cropco, Danny Stover, John Brewer, John Brewer, Jr. and Jerry Stover.
