Preston Ayers

Everett Preston Ayers, 65, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 in a Charleston hospital. 

Born August 9, 1959, at Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Hershel Raymond and Etta Faye (Altice) Ayers. 

 Preston was a former coalminer and a member of UMWA. He attended the Daystar Worship Center, Mount Hope. Preston was an avid outdoorsman loving to buck hunt and fish. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and his special brother-in-law, Roger.  

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two infant brothers. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife, Virginia Ayers; two step daughters, Misty Atkins and her husband, Lyle and Amanda Bowyer; one son, Daniel Sumpter; one grandson, Toby Levi Akers; two granddaughters, Brianna Hysell and Alexis Hysell one sister, Eulia Reed and her husband, Jerry; and one brother, Arthur Ayers and his wife, Barbara. 

Celebration of Life will be 4:00 P.M., Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Daystar Worship Center, 511 Kilsyth Road, Mount Hope with Pastor Larry Humphrey officiating. Immediately following the service, there will be a dinner and a time of fellowship.
