Phyllis Rose Ciccantell (Fara) Kern

Phyllis Rose Ciccantell (Fara) Kern was called home on Sunday, September 22, 2013 by her Heavenly Father and to meet Jesus, her Personal Savior, to receive her new body, robe and crown, and to live in her Mansion. She was born on January 9, 1943 at Tamroy, WV to the late Sidney Ciccantell of Italy and Lucy M. Ellis Ciccantell of Concho, WV. She was preceded in death by her little grandbaby, Spencer Wade Hundley; sister, Sylvia, and most recently by her brothers, Mark and Buddy Jack. She was the last surviving member of this Ciccantell family. She graduated from Mount Hope High School, then moved to the Washington, D. C. area including Alexandria, VA where she worked as a waitress, and was a homemaker. She then moved back to West Virginia to Kilsyth and worked 7 days a week 3-4 jobs at a time to provide for her children. Of some of these jobs, was with WTNJ Radio station, 18 years with the City of Mount Hope where she worked in custodial positions and Sam's Place for 19 years as a server. She loved each and every family member unconditionally and was proud of her Italian and Cherokee Indian Heritage. She loved fresh cut flowers, cleaning, football, bluegrass, and her kitties. She also looked forward every Sunday morning to church to hear her Pastor Rudell Bloomfield deliver the message. She endured a great many daunting challenges here on this earth which contributed to her fortitude and perseverance. This made her the resilient woman she was. Survivors include her children, Gail Frazier and her husband, Robert of Mount Hope and Monica Rose Kern-Anderson and her husband, Jeff and her grandson, Montgomery Cliff Hundley of Mount Hope; grandsons, Phillip Lee Stover and his wife, Cora and their daughter, Miranda Faith Stover of Glen Ferris, WV, and Conrad Clayton Hundley and his wife, Amber of Prosperity;. Step-granddaughter, Kayla Anderson of Oak Hill; four nieces, one nephew, Special sister-in-laws, Betty A. Ciccantell of Waterford, OH and Jency E. Kelly and her husband, Tom P. Kelly of Winchester, VA; special extended family members included are Eddie Whittaker of Glen Ferris, and Teddy Hundley of Kilsyth, close friends, Jane Payne Simmons, Herbert R. Miller, Jr. and Peggy Arthur. All her “Buddies” will serve as pallbearers: Jim Williams, Sam Spadaro, Earl Williams, Dave Hizer, Russell Bloomfield, Teddy Hundley, Clayton and Montgomery Hundley will also serve as pallbearers. Services will be Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 1:00 P. M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Pastor Rudell Bloomfield officiating. Her body will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
