Philip Andrew Legg,79, of Oak Hill died Thursday, October 13, 2005 at Raleigh General Hospital, following a short illness. Born July 26, 1926 at Fire Creek, he was the son of the late Lucian and Agnes Hall Legg. Mr. Legg was a retired coal miner and heavy equipment operator having retired from Perry and Hylton Company at Cannelton. He was a member of the UMWA, and was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by brothers, Russell, Fred, Bill and David Legg. Survivors include his wife, Macie H. Weeks Legg of Oak Hill, a son, Philip Legg and companion, Alicia Cantley of Oak Hill; granddaughter, Rena Law and husband, Kenneth of Flat Top; grandson, Steve Legg and wife, Carol of Oak Hill; great grandson, Michael Crites of Kincaid; brothers, the Rev. Daniel Legg of Bradley and the Rev. Bobby Legg of Beckley; and three sisters, Lillian French of Houston, TX; Nannie Harrah of Craigsville; and Garnett Cross of Chicago, Ill. Graveside Rites will be 2 PM Sunday at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley with the Rev. Daniel Legg and Robbie Dickens officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call from 12:30 until 1:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Eugene Legg, Steve Legg, Michael Crites, Kenneth Law, Freddie Legg and Wayne Legg.
