Peggy Delung Jones
November 23, 1940 — April 20, 2015
After a long and courageous battle, Peggy June DeLung Jones of Scarbro, WV won the victory when she peacefully went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday, April 20, 2015.
She was the daughter of the late John and Arizona Lafferty DeLung.
Peggy was a 1958 graduate of Collins High School. She was employed by the Unemployment Compensation Division for over 46 years.
She was a devoted wife, mother.and grandmother to her family whom she loved dearly.
Peggy was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband Damon Jennings "Mutt" Jones; three sisters: Delores "Jimmie" Davis, Joyce "Tommie" Davis and Barbara "Ticker" Wyatt; and one brother Keith DeLung.
She is survived by her two daughters, Debra J. Andrews Cook and husband Calvin, of Oak Hill and Kimberly Ann Surface and husband Terry, of Princeton; four grandchildren: Amanda Jones of Oak Hill, Jonathon Andrews and wife Heather of Oak Hill, Terrence T-Wayne Surface and wife Mary of Bluefield, and Stephanie Surface of Princeton; six great grandchildren: Sierra Jones, David Jones. Preston Keeney, Tyler Bolen, Tanner and Trenton Surface; three brothers: John DeLung and wife Gay of Florence, SC, Frank "Poke" DeLung of Dothan, and Rusty DeLung and wife Sue of Dothan; two sisters: Blanche Massey of Scarbro and Betty Buckland of Rainelle; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and close friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to Peggy's niece Bridgette Hammontree for all the care she provided during her final journey and to the staff of Raleigh Regional Cancer Center.
Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Bishop Sam R. Calloway, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
Pallbearers: Jonathon Andrews, Terrence Surface, Calvin Cook, Terry Surface, Steve Davis, Matt Jones, Korey Bibb, and Tyler Bolen and special honorary pallbearer David Jones.
