Pearl Aliff Holstein

Pearl Aliff Holstein, 95, of Pax, WV died on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born August 14, 1913 at Eccles, WV she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Elizabeth Milam Aliff. She was a retired department manager for Montgomery Ward in Charleston. Pearl was a 1930 graduate of Pax High School. She was a member of the Long Branch Methodist Church. Her husband, Marshall Holstein; four brothers, John, Alfred, Eddie and Homer Aliff and a sister, Pansie Hall preceded her in death. Survivors include one brother, Lacy "Sut" Aliff and wife, Joan of Okeechobee, FL; three sisters, Madge Weeks of Pax, Jean Humphrey and husband, Ralph of Ripley and Patsy Parisean and husband, Kenneth of Radcliff, KY, a host of nieces and nephews and special caregivers, Wanda Fay and Terri. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Bowers Hospice House for their wonderful care and support. Services will be on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Rev. Doug Holley officiating. Burial will be at Pax Community Cemetery in Pax, WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope on Thursday, May 14, 2009, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Nephews will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley WV 25801.
