Paul Anthony Treadway
June 18, 1962 — December 8, 2022
Paul Anthony Treadway, 60, of Oak Hill, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 8, 2022. He passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Emma Treadway, a beloved brother-in-law Larkin DeLung, a niece Jennifer Hollandsworth and nephew Michael Cox.
Paul leaves behind many people who loves him dearly. The love of his life, wife of 38 years, Tammy Treadway; his son, Paul Treadway Jr. and companion Meredith Ayers; his daughter, Megan Treadway Smith and husband Andrew (Drew Drew) Smith; his grandsons, Lucas (Lukie Lou)Treadway, Leyton Smith ( Luv Luv), Zaiden (Bubzy) Smith, Kodah (Bear) Treadway and Axel (Rat) Smith; father/mother-in-laws, Frank and Sharon DeLung; brother/sisters-in-laws, whom he helped to raise, Sonjia Counts (husband John), Frankie DeLung (wife Christy), Travis DeLung (companion Misty), and Sherrie Myers (husband Teddy); brother, Jimmy Treadway (wife Marcella); sister, Tina Taylor (husband Robert); brother, Larry Treadway (wife Tammie); sister, Ruthie Turner (partner Billy); as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Paul served in the United States Army Reserves and was a Tractor Trailer driver by trade. However, his true passion was his family. He and his wife built a rock foundation for their family and shared too many beautiful memories to list throughout the years. His son was his best friend and he was his baby boy's idol. His daughter was daddy's little girl and he her hero. He was a loving and devoted Papaw to his grandbabies who were his pride and joy. Paul made an impact on the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a heart of gold and was always there when someone needed him. He was a peaceful man with an infectious laugh that will never be forgotten. He enjoyed carpentry work, music, playing guitar, camping with his family and growing his garden in the spring. He bravely fought his cancer with his army right by his side. His life on earth may be over; however, this isn't the end, but merely an interruption!
Funeral service will be at 2:00pm Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor George Seacrest and brother Jim Treadway officiating. In keeping with Paul's wishes he will be cremated following the service.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Cholangiocarcinoma Awareness Foundation for research.
