Paul "Eddie" Simmons, 75, of Oak Hill passed away Friday, August 31, 2007 at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill after a short illness. Born February 26, 1932 at Minden, WV, a son of the late Meldon Simmons and Emma Pearl Humphrey Simmons. He was a retired Sr. Captain with Moundsville Penitentiary. Veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served in the U. S. Air Force as a corporal; was former owner of the White Oak Lanes, Oak Hill and was Grandparent of the Year for the Midget League at Oak Hill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Ball Simmons; two brothers, J. W. Simmons and Wallace Simmons. Survivors include one daughter, Patti Adkins and husband, Jimmie of Oak Hill; Gene Simmons and companion, Iris Greer of Beckley; Eddie Simmons and wife, Jeannie of Bealton, VA; one sister, Mary Hayslett of Minden; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with Rev. Jim Elmore officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 10 AM until 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
