December 5, 1941 — April 2, 2009

Paul Shrewsberry, 67, of Scarbro died Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Beckley after a long illness. Born December 5, 1941 at Bud, WV, he was the son of Aline Sizemore Shrewsberry of Fayetteville and the late Estel Shrewsberry. Mr. Shrewsberry was a disabled veteran having served with the US Marine Corps and was a member of the Sun Full Gospel Church at Sun. He was preceded in death by brothers, William Tolbert Shrewsberry, Timothy Jarrell Shrewsberry, Edward Estel Shrewsberry. Survivors include three sons, Craig Shrewsberry of Scarbro, Dean Shrewsberry and wife Kerri and Derek Shrewsberry all of Oak Hill; one daughter, Paula Shrewsberry of Hilltop; two stepdaughters, Michelle Hiser of Maple Fork and Tracy Harper of Shady Spring; brothers, Moses Leon Shrewsberry of Fayetteville, Byron Shrewsberry of Tennessee, Jerry Lee Shrewsberry of Scarbro and Terry Shrewsberry of Martinsburg; sisters, Faye Sizemore of Princeton, Evie Perkins of Fayetteville, Sylvia Davidson of Fayetteville, Donna Milam of Scarbro and Cynthia England of Fayetteville. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with Rev. Robert Burnett officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity where military rites will be conducted by VFW Post #3110 of Oak Hill. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Tyree Funeral Home, Oak HIll.
