Greg and I lost our best friend, my soul mate, wonderful husband and loving father, Friday, May 11, 2012 at 6:00 A.M. at The Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. Paul Jennings Malcolm, of Oak Hill, WV, was born at Whitby, WV., February 13, 1922 to Ben and Lula Thomas Malcolm. He was predeceased by three brothers, Lawrence, Ben Junior and Carl E. Malcolm; one sister, Gladys Marie Malcolm Ford Creager. He is survived by his loving wife, Ramona Martin Malcolm and son Greg Malcolm and Lizzie Watts, one brother Robert L. Malcolm and companion Ruth Whittington, a sister Betty McCoy of Mabscott, WV, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church for 47 years where he served as Deacon, Teller and member of the Fiance Committee. Paul was a member of the Oak Hill Masonic Lodge #120, a 32 degree member of the Scottish Rite of Charleston, WV and a long time member of the Oak Hill Civitan Club. Paul retired from Long-Airdox Company of Oak Hill in 1987 where he served as Vice President of Purchasing and Material Control. Paul served his country as a Lieutenant in the US Navy during WWII where he was a Navy pilot and flight instructor. He was awarded the Golden Horseshoe Award in 1936 while attending the Mabscott Elementary School, an award of which he was very proud. Paul was a member of the class of 1942 at Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Beckley College from 1947-1949. Funeral services will be held at Oak Hill Baptist Church, Monday, May 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM. with Rev. Bryan Knight and Rev David Sneed officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B, Beckley, WV with military rites conducted by Oak Hill VFW Post 3110. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
