Patricia Martin Parker, 80, of Mount Hope, WV passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015.
She was born October 10, 1934 in Mount Hope, WV. She was the daughter of the late V. L. and Zelma Martin.
Patty was a member of The Mount Hope High School class of ’52, and the West Virginia Wesleyan College class of ’56. She worked as a school teacher, a homemaker, and enjoyed being a decorative painter. She loved her family and loved to spend her time creating things. She was very talented in crafting and painting, and has left behind beautiful memories in her artwork. Patricia was a member of the Fayetteville United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed her time as a member of the Woman’s Group. She was a member of The Mount Hope Federated League, and the West Virginia Wesleyan College Emeritus Club.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters; Jean Donahoe and Peggy Dorsey, and two brothers; William Martin and Edward Martin.
Patty is survived by her husband of 58 years, Malcolm Parker of Mt. Hope; brother, Robert Martin and wife Sue of Reynoldsburg, OH; son, Randy Parker and wife Robin of Berryville, VA; daughter, Kimberly VonErden and husband Gary of Sterling, VA; five grandchildren; Thomas Parker and wife Emily, Andrea Ernst and husband Matthew, William Parker, Jack Parker, and Jennifer VonErden, three great grandchildren; Alexandra Parker, Dylan Parker, and Lillian Ernst, and many cherished nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Fayetteville United Methodist Church, 2 pm, on Saturday, January 31st, 2015, with Pastor Clare Sulgit-Horn officiating.
