Owen Ballengee

Owen Shirley Ballengee, 73, of Page, WV died on Sunday, May 09, 2004 at his home. Born January 05, 1931 at Mead, WV he was the son of the late John Edgar and Margaret Angeline Buckland Ballengee. He was a retired coal miner for Peabody Coal, Stickney Mines. Mr. Ballengee was a member of the Robson Freewill Baptist Church and the UMWA District 17. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Laurie Parrish Ballangee a son, David Ballengee and a daughter, Drema Ballengee. Survivors include sons: Larry, Dennis and Herb Ballengee all of Page, Owen Ballengee of Oak Hill and Glenn Ballengee of Beckley; daughters, Susan Smith of Teays Valley and Deborah Thomas of Page; grandchildren Drew Ballengee, Grant and Blake Smith and Marshall Wade Thomas; brothers, John Ballengee of Mississippi and Harold Ballengee of Georiga; and a sister, Marie Lester of Beckley. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Wednesday, May 12, 2004, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Services will be on Thursday, May 13, 2004 at 11:00 am at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Jack McNeely officiating. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Prosperity WV.
