Opal Woods

Opal L. Walker Woods, 87, of Oak Hill, WV died on Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Vaughan Dunlap following a long illness. Born August 24, 1916 at Sipsey, AL she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Lydia Aaron Walker. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Woods was a member of the Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church, Oak Hill, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Harlan Woods; son, Charles Woods; brothers, Charles and James Walker; sisters, Margaret Walker, Bernice Gilbert, Peggy Smith and Christine Jenkins. Survivors include daughter, Nancy (Vaughan) Dunlap of Oak Hill; sons, Oscar (Anne) Woods of St. Louis Park, MN and Lawrence (Terri) Woods of Highland, IN; daughter-in-law, Elenor Woods of Highland, IN; sister, Virginia Uroblesky of Annapolis, MD 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Thursday, May 20, 2004, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and on Friday, May 21, 2004, at Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Services will be on Friday, May 21, 2004, at 11:00 am at Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church in Oak Hill with Rev. Bill Menefee Pastor Rudell Bloomfield officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
