Oda V. Vickers

Oda Vestal Vickers, 96, of Robson, WV died on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Oda was born on December 19, 1911 at Lattin, WV a son of the late Thomas Landon and Maude Ann Miller Vickers. He was a retired coal miner having worked for Tamroy Mining and was a member of the UMWA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Adkins Vickers and a daughter, Mildred Delores Vickers. Survivors include two sons, Robert Vestal Vickers of Kincaid and Billy Franklin Vickers of Robson; one daughter, Barbara Brown of Fairfax, VA and two brothers, Arb Vickers of Huntington and Jack Vickers of Huntington. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren as well as his caregivers, Billy Vickers, Keith Vickers, Tammy Vickers, Patricia Light and Jimmy Sponaugle. Services will be on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill. Burial will be at the Settle Cemetery, Mulberry Hollow in Robson WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
