Norma Lee Sumpter Tichenor

On June 13th, 2012, our beloved mother and grandmother, Norma Lee Sumpter Tichenor of Mossy passed away. Norma was devoted to her family and will be sadly missed. Norma was born October 14, 1931 in Kingston, WV, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Cary and Retta Belle Sumpter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hope O. Tichenor, sister, Marie Sumpter, brothers, Ray Ora Sumpter, Raymond Darrell Sumpter, Eugene Kenneth Sumpter and Paige Sumpter. Those left to cherish her memory include sons Eddie Tichenor and companion Patsy Patton of Clifton Forge, VA, Ted Tichenor and companion Wendy Noye of Mossy, WV, six grandchildren, Lisa Williams and husband Wayne Williams of Raleigh, NC, Yvonne Campbell and husband Stoney Campbell of Vinton, VA, Fleming Tichenor of Mossy, WV, Dustin Tichenor of Mossy, WV, Cary Tichenor and wife Heather of Lynchburg, VA and Sara Tichenor of Roanoke, VA. Also surviving are five great grandchildren, Jordan and Samantha Williams of Raleigh, NC, Zane and Olivia Campbell of Vinton, VA and Aubriana Tichenor of Tuscon, AZ and Bill Sumpter of Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, WV with Rev. Paul Basham officiating. Entombment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 PM on Thursday, June 14, 2012. Family Members will serve as pallbearers.
