Nila Jean Pennock Smith

Nila Jean Pennock Smith , 71, of Oak Hill, WV died on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born March 24, 1942 at Oak Hill, WV she was the daughter of the late Theodore Everett and Mary Elizabeth Coleman Pennock. She was a former employee of Sunshine Pillow Company and B&C Uniform Company. Nila was a member of the First Church of the Brethren of Oak Hill. She was a 1962 graduate of Collins High School in Oak Hill. A daughter, Angela Hunt and a sister, Decima Naomi Pennock preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Moore and husband, Gregory of Manassas, VA and Melinda Kincaid of Oak Hill; one son, Ted Smith of Martinsburg; three sisters, Dora Pennock of Oak Hill, Mary Lou Warstler of Akron, OH and Eleanor Hamilton of Maryland; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. David Sneed officiating. Burial will be at Dooley Cemetery, Gatewood. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Tyree Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
