Nellie R. Stack

Nellie R. Vance Stack , 94, of Mount Hope, WV departed this life and went into the arms of her heavenly Father on Monday, October 22, 2007. Born March 07, 1913 at MacDonald, WV she was the daughter of the late William Jackson and Nannie Elizabeth Bennett Vance. Mrs. Stack was a retired elementary school teacher. She was a member of the First Assembly of God, Mount Hope, WV, where she taught Sunday School and played the piano, guitar and omnicord accompanying herself as she sang. She was a member of the Fayette County Home Demonstration Club, The Women's Farm Club of Fayette County and the National Retired Teacher's Association, American Association of University Women and AARP. Nellie enjoyed making crafts, handywork of any kind and cooking. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Bembalker and his staff for the kindness they showed during her illness and her caregivers, Mary Ann Argabright, Jack Argabright, Joyce Stack and Bill Stack. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Stack, Sr. in 1966, seven brothers, Robert Vance, Clyde Vance, Chester Vance, Roy Vance, Walter Vance, Moses Lee Vance and Grover Eugene Vance and one sister, Lillyetta Stoneking. Survivors include Left to cherish her memory are two sons, John W. "Bill" Stack, Jr. and wife, Nelma of Crab Orchard, WV and Robert Galen Stack and companion, Lou of Fairfax, VA; two daughters, Joyce Elizabeth Stack of Placeville, CA and Mary Ann Argabright and husband, Jack of Packs Branch, WV and a brother, James Vance and wife, Macie of Asheville, NC. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Steven Wayne Stack and wife, Jerri and James "Jim" William Stack and wife, Sandra all of Crab Orchard, WV; six great grandchildren, Eden Stack, Jacob Stack, Cody Stack, Ethan Stack, Emily Strck and Alexis Stack all of Crab Orchard, WV; special friends, Bill and Betty Castle of Beckley, WV and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Services will be on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Jessie Parker officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
