Nellie A. Nowlin

Nellie Ann Kokoski Nowlin, 90, of Oak Hill, WV died on Thursday, June 05, 2008 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born November 15, 1917 at Wilkes-Barre, PA she was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Elizabeth Anna Perkant Kokoski. She was retired having worked as a waitress Hotel Hill and a cook for Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School. She was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Oak Hill. Nellie was a member of the Ladies Guild of the church and T.O.P.S. She enjoyed making crafts and going to Craft Shows. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Norman H. Staples, second husband, William Everette Nowlin and a son, Albert J. Kokoski. Nellie was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Kokoski, Tony Kokoski and Frank Kokoski. Survivors include three sons, Norman W. "Bill" Staples and wife, Sue of Oak Hill, Everette Ira Nowlin of Oak Hill and Michael Anthony Nowlin of Oak Hill; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren and her special caregiver, Barbara Kinley. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 11:30 A.M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Oak Hill with Father Paul Yuenger officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Monday, June 9, 2008 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
