Nellie Johnson

Nellie Mae Waddell Johnson, 87, of Horse Creek, died Friday, January 2, 2004 at Raleigh General Hospital after a short illness. She was born January 28, 1917. Mrs. Johnson attended the Long Branch United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Johnson and four daughters, Evelyn Colborn, Ella Mae Cox, Ruby Ayers and Virginia Hicks. Survivors include two daughters, Debra Tiscareno and husband, Jesus, and Rayola Fitzpatrick and husband, Walter, all of Scarbro. Two sons, William Altice and James Altice and wife, Mary, all of Oak Hill. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, January 4, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope. Service will be 1:00 pm Monday, January 5, 2004, at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope, with Rev. Chalmer Abrams officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
