Nellie Edwards Humphrey

Nellie Marie Edwards Humphrey,76, of Mount Hope, WV died on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. Born October 22, 1935 at Kingston, WV, she was the daughter of the late James and Eva Davis Edwards. She retired as Admissions Clerk from the Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley after 20 years of service and previously worked at Beckley Manufacturing Co. for 13 years. Nellie attended the First Church of God for many years. She was preceded in death by her son, James "Jackie" Humphrey, Jr., her husband, James "Jack" Humphrey, brothers, Henry, Harry, Hershel, Howard and Herbert Edwards, and three sisters, Martha Acord, Mary Ralston and Margaret Hornsby. She is survived by her daughter, Debra "Debbie" Blake and her husband, Bill, two granddaughters, Stephanie Simmons and her husband, Terry and LeAnn Blake, two great granddaughters, Jacquelyn and Kaitlyn Simmons, one great grandson due in April, Samuel Wayne and one brother, Harvey Edwards. Services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope, with Minister Ken Overdorf and Minister Terry Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
