Naomi Ruth Adkins Stowers

Naomi Ruth Adkins Stowers, age 84, of Oak Hill, WV passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born November 6, 1926 at Bernie, WV in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Opal Stowers Adkins. Naomi was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Stowers on August 28, 1993; by a brother, James Arbie Adkins and by a sister, Ludena Peters. Surviving are her two daughters, Carol Scarbrough of Hopewell, VA and Sheila Louisos and her husband, Steve of Oak Hill, her three sons, Larry Stowers and his wife, Joann, Steven Stowers and his wife, Brenda and Randy Stowers and his wife, Cindy, all of Oak Hill; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Bernard Adkins, Roger Adkins and Gary Adkins all of Clinton, Iowa and two sisters, Bertie Slade of LaPlace, IL. And Arnie Tegeler of Morrison, IL. A graveside committal service with burial to follow will be held at 2:15 P.M. Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill with Rev. Doug Holley officiating. Friends may call at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
