Nancy Sue Riser Stover, also known as "Little Susie," 72, of Bradley, West Virginia, passed on peacefully in her sleep. She left this world to be welcomed home to Glory with a new body on September 2, 2016.
Born May 7, 1944, in Carlisle, WV, she was the daughter of the late James Wilbur “Web” and Mattie Louise “Lou” Rice Riser.
She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker by having a loving and open home for family, friends, and more. She created a habitat for and welcomed the birds annually, enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, sewing, teaching Sunday school, and singing in the choir. She also worked outside the home as an assistant postmaster in Carlisle, a proofreader for the Fayette Tribune, a school bus driver, hospital accounts receivable, switchboard operator and more.
She is preceded in death by her first born son, Ronald Calvin Stover, Jr.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Ronald Calvin Stover, and their loving dog, Biscuit; daughters, "Becky" Rebecca Stover Ferguson (Stuart) of Virginia, Teresa Stover Gosling of Florida, and Donna Stover Carrington of Bradley; brothers: James “Jim” Riser (Rose) of Oak Hill, and Charles "Charlie Pete" Riser (Margot) of Oak Hill and their families; grandchildren: Melissa Ferguson-Frye (Brandon) of Virginia, Ashley Nicole Gosling (Travis Salmons) of Hurricane, Joshua Gosling of Virginia, Amber Carrington of Virginia, Jessica Carrington of Bradley; and great grandchildren: Jeremiah Gosling, Robbie Gosling, Brianna Gosling, Thomas Salmons, and Grace Carrington.
A service in celebration of her life will be held at Carlisle First Church of God at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. The family will receive visitors one hour prior at the church.
