Myles "Pete" Johnson

Myles "Pete" Johnson,84,of Scarbro, died Sunday, September 5, 2004 at his home. He was born September 14, 1919 at Page, WV he was a son of the late Hubert Wirt and Jennie Bonome Johnson. He was a retired coal miner, member of the UMWA and served in the the US Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gretna Wriston Johnson and two sisters and one brother. Survivors include four sons, Grover Johnson and his wife, June of Scarbro, Allen Johnson of Charlottesville, VA, Tom Johnson and his wife, JoAnn of Norfolk, VA and Butch Johnson and his wife, Judy of Oak Hill; two daughters, Kay Cox and her husband, Calvin of Hinton, Susie Johnson and her companion, Kenny of Scarbro; daughter-in-law, Jane Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA; three brothers, Robert Johnson of TN, Douglass Johnson of MI, and Braden Johnson of Churchill, TN; one sister, Betty Lawhorn of Oak Hill; seventeen grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren. Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill, WV with Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Burial will be in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8 Pm at the funeral home.
