Muriel Abshire Deal

Muriel Abshire Deal , 85, of Mount Hope, WV died on Monday, February 19, 2007 at her daughter's home surrounded by her family. Born March 28, 1921 at Mount Hope, WV she was the daughter of the late George A. and Mabel Perry Abshire. Mrs. Deal was a former employee of the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was a member of the Mount Hope Christian Church, Mount Hope, WV, and the Women's Christian Fellowship. She was also a member of the Winolia Chapter No. 59, O.E.S., Mount Hope and was a recipient of the Grand Cross of Colour for involvement with the Rainbow Girls. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph A. Deal on February 20, 1992; one daughter, George Anna Deal Lively and one brother, Ashby A. Abshire. Survivors include a son, Morgan A. Deal and wife, Barbara of Montgomery, WV; daughter, Ginny Price and husband, Mike Burroughs of Mount Hope, WV; a son-in-law, J. Keith Lively of Mount Hope, WV; two brothers, Lewis R. "Tommy" Abshire of Potomac MD and Charles J. "Jim" Abshire of Uniontown, OH; one sister, Hazel "Cissie" Kent of Mount Hope, WV; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope on Wednesday from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM Services will be on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 2:30 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope in Mount Hope. with Minister Ferd Gavina and Rev. Delmas Wolfe. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity WV. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to the Mount Hope Christian Church, PO Box 449, Mount Hope, WV 25880 or to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, PO Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25801.
