Minnie Burke Kincaid

Minnie Virginia Burke Kincaid, 87, of Oak Hill, WV formerly of Kincaid, WV died on Wednesday, February 02, 2005, at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born April 19, 1917 at Kincaid, WV she was the daughter of the late John D. and Margaret Pegram Roop Burke. Mrs. Kincaid was a retired homemaker and Secretary-Treasurer for Kincaid Plumbing and Supply Company in Kincaid. She was a graduate of Montgomery High School and a lifelong member of the Kincaid United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Holt "Todd" Kincaid on November 29, 1982; three brothers, Lyle, Charles and Bernice Burke; one sister, Mary Johnston; one half-sister, Effie Roop Sharps and three half-brothers, Clemor, Franklin and Roy Roop. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Kincaid Walker of Woodbury, MN and Judith Fischer and husband, Bob, of Salisbury, MD; two sons, B. Carroll Kincaid and wife, Joyce, of Mechanicsville, VA and Douglas Kincaid and wife, Carolyn, of Oak Hill. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dawn Walker of Woodbury, MN, Cheryl Vatsaas and husband, Rick, of Eagan, MN, Stephanie Huss and husband, Phil, of Durango, CO, Daniel Kincaid of Richmond, VA, Scott Kincaid and wife, Rose, of Mechanicsville, VA, Crystal Lewis and husband, John, of Mechanicsville, VA, Douglas Kincaid, Jr. and wife, Sandra, of Hanover, Pa and Jon Andrew Kincaid and wife, Angel, of Oak Hill. Great grandchildren, Daniel Walker of Woodbury, MN, Phillip and Alex Huss of Durango, CO, Ingrid and Christian Vatsaas of Eagan, MN, Matthew and Rachel Kincaid of Mechanicsville, VA, Morgan and Aubrie Kincaid of Hanover, PA as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Saturday, February 5, 2005, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Services will be on Sunday, February 6, 2005, at 2:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Arolette Stover officiating. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, WV. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Kincaid United Methodist Church, Kincaid, WV 25119. The family would like to express their thanks to Norma Burdiss who cared for Minnie at her home in Oak Hill. Also, the family wishes to thank the Hilltop Health Center staff and employees for their loving kindness and care for their Mother while she was a resident there.
