Mildred Vass

Mildred Juanita Wood Vass,81, of Oak Hill died Saturday, September 10, 2005 at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill after a long illness. She was born April 30, 1924 at Beury Mountain, WV, a daughter of the late Roy Wood, Sr. and Bessie Staton Wood. She was a homemaker, housewife and mother and a member of the Thurmond Gospel Church. Her husband, William McKinley Vass, Jr.; seven brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons and two daughters, Skip Vass of Oak Hill, Mary (Bob) Black of Oak Hill, Danny (Karen) Vass of Fayetteville, and Judy (Joe) Hill of Oak Hill; one brother, Richard Wood of Glen Jean; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren. Friends may call from 6:00 until 9:00 PM Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, WV. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 14, 2005, at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Family will serve as pallbearers.
