Mildred L. Pleasant

Mildred "Betty" Lucille Swisher Pleasant, 91, of Oak Hill, WV died on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Hidden Valley Healthcare Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born November 25, 1914 at Jenningston, Tucker County, WV she was the daughter of the late Francis and Flossie Kate Lantz Swisher. Mrs. Pleasant was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church and the Ladies Bible Class and a homemaker. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Daniel Doyle and the staff at Hidden Valley for their kindness and care. Her husband, Robert Allen Pleasant and a son, William Francis Pleasant preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters, Faith Allen and husband, Paul, of Oak Hill, Barbara King of Salisbury, NC and Ann Mitchell and husband, Bob, of Columbus, OH; one brother, Boyd Swisher of Harrisonburg, VA; one sister, Kathryn Koerner of Middletown, VA; six grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Friday, March 17, 2006, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a brief memorial service at 8:00 PM. Graveside rites and committal services will be on Saturday, March 18, 2006, at 1:00 P.M. at the Parsons Cemetery in Parsons with Rev. David Sneed officiating. Burial will be at Parsons Cemetery, Parsons WV. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, PO Box 1472, Beckley WV 25802.
