Mickey W. Barrett

Mickey Wayne Barrett, 53, of Oak Hill, WV died on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV of an apparent heart attack. Born March 21, 1951 at Kingston, WV he was the son of the late Harvey and Doris O'Brien Barrett. He had worked for Indiana Harbour Belt Railroad. Mickey attended Mount Hope High School. He joined the US Army a short time later and served proudly in the Artillary division during the VietNam Conflict. He loved his girls and was very proud of them. You knew it by the sprakle in his eyes whenever he talked about them. He was an outdoor sports fan and a loyal WVU Mountaineer fan. Survivors include two daughters, Nicki Garrett-Ghiglieri and Amanda Barrett-Jensen; two brothers, Harvey Lester (Dianne) Barrett of Hilltop and Keith (Crema) Barrett of Morgantown; three sisters, Sharon (Jerry) Hafford of Eldorado, IL, Ellen (Bill) Poole of Wheatfield, IN and Judy (Scott) Zaremba of Madison, Wisconsin; his former wife, Billie Jean Kincaid-Barrett; two grandchildren, Marco Angelo and Zeno Alexander Ghiglieri; seven nieces, seven nephews and his dear friends, Will Fredricks and Wayne and Billie Sipich Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 15, 2005, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Services will be on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Sam Vance officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity WV with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill.
